Discord is one of the world’s most popular platforms for messaging and voice chat, but it doesn’t have a built-in way to send messages to yourself. If you want to send yourself messages, you can use the solo group DM workaround.
There are many ways to message friends via Discord. However, there isn’t any option to message yourself directly within Discord. Instead, you need to create a solo group DM (Direct Message), then message that group.
How to Send a Self Message on Discord
Discord does not have an inbox for self-messages. So you’ll need to create a group DM and then message that group instead.
Step 1: Open the Direct Messages tab in Discord.
Step 2: Click + beside the Direct Messages section.
Step 3: Skip adding your friends. Instead, click Create at the bottom-right.
Step 4: Choose “Create Group.”
Step 5: Start messaging yourself in this new group.
Alternatively, you can also simply open the Direct Messages screen and select New Group from the menu options. Then choose the Create Group option. Skip adding any friends, and start sending messages.
You can send a message to yourself in this group message.
If you would like to receive messages without being notified, check the notification settings and disable them.
Conclusion
Discord does not allow users to send messages to themselves. However, you can send messages to yourself by using a solo group DM instead. Just remember to leave the group with only yourself in it.
