In the world of Discord, a server is like a room or community where people gather and interact. However, there are some servers that contain content suitable for adults only (NSFW). Unfortunately, on iOS devices, Discord blocks access to such age-restricted content by default. The reason behind this restriction is Apple’s App Store policy. If an app has NSFW channels, then it must list itself as mature in its description. To avoid violating the App Store guidelines, Discord has chosen to restrict age-restricted content by default.
iOS users can bypass these restrictions by enabling “Allow adult content” in their Discord settings. Once you have done so, all channels within your servers will be visible, allowing you to access any desired content without any issues. This solution should work for both iPhones and iPads.
Steps to enable access
The following steps outline how to enable access to age-restricted servers on iOS:
- Open the Discord app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap the icon in the top-left corner of the screen.
- Scroll down and select Settings.
- Choose General from the list.
- Toggle the switch next to Allow adult content to allow access to servers with age-restricted content.
- Exit out of the Settings menu.
Once you have completed these steps, you’ll no longer need to worry about being blocked from accessing certain Discord servers.
Confirm the setting
To confirm that you’re allowed to access age-restricted content, go to the main menu and tap on Friends & Status. Here, you’ll find a message that confirms that adult content has been enabled. From here, simply tap back into the main menu to return to Discord.
