Discord Age Restricted iOS: How to Access Age-Restricted Servers

In the world of Discord, a server is like a room or community where people gather and interact. However, there are some servers that contain content suitable for adults only (NSFW). Unfortunately, on iOS devices, Discord blocks access to such age-restricted content by default. The reason behind this restriction is Apple’s App Store policy. If an app has NSFW channels, then it must list itself as mature in its description. To avoid violating the App Store guidelines, Discord has chosen to restrict age-restricted content by default.

Users who are 18 or older can opt in to viewing eligible age-restricted servers on iOS, but the switch must currently be enabled from Discord on desktop. This does not make every channel visible: a subset of servers focused on explicit pornographic content remains blocked on iOS, and some regions require age assurance.

Steps to enable access

The current opt-in steps are:

1. Sign in to Discord on the desktop app or web.

1. Open User Settings using the cogwheel beside your username.

1. Select Content & Social.

1. Enable “Allow access to age-restricted content on iOS.”

You can then return to the iOS app and view eligible age-restricted servers you already belong to. Users under 18 cannot use this setting to access age-restricted content.

Confirm the setting

If the setting is unavailable or access still fails, check whether Discord requires age assurance in your region and review the official age-restricted server FAQ. Do not use a different birth date or another person’s identity to bypass the restriction.
